STUDENT CORNER

The Michigan Surgical Technology Student Association (MSTSA) is focused on providing educational opportunities for students to enhance their professional career, patient care, and involvement within the profession.

Our First Hands-on Student Workshop was a Success!!!!

On November 3rd, 2007 we held our First Student Hands-on Workshop and Q & A session! Julie Jackson CST and Carrie Schrepfer CST created their own surgical simulators in order to provide and capture a sense of real operating procedures for students including: a laparoscopic cholecystectomy, an open cholecystectomy, tracheotomy, wound closure, stapling techniques, and ligating techniques. We had an impressive turn out in which many students from around the state of Michigan joined together to acquire “hands on” experience with surgical instrumentation, surgical supplies, equipment and also asking questions & winning prizes!!!

Thank you to all the students who attended our Student Workshop!
We hope you had an educational and enjoyable experience!
You are the Future of our Profession!
