As the Michigan State Assembly, it is our mission to
enhance high quality patient care, by advocating and providing
opportunities for educational
and professional development in the field of surgical technology.
Vision Statement:
MSA-AST was established to represent,
support and unite all surgical technologists in the state of
Michigan in their common goals and purposes and the activities
derived there from.

Description
The Surgical
Technologist is an allied health professional who possesses
expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic
techniques and who combines knowledge of human anatomy, surgical
procedures, and the implementation tools and technologies to
facilitate a physician’s performance of invasive therapeutic and
diagnostic procedures.*
