Carolyn Darnell
We were saddened to hear that Carolyn Darnell passed away at her home on February 9, 2010. Until her retirement in 2005, Carolyn Darnell was a certified surgical technologist at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit for 35 years. Carolyn was an adjunct instructor in surgical technology at Highland Park Community College, Washtenaw Community College, and since 1997 at Henry Ford Community College. Carolyn became an operating room specialist while serving in the United States Army. She was known throughout southeast Michigan’s operating rooms and was an integral part of many surgical technology students’ clinical training. Carolyn took great pride in being a certified surgical technologist and worked both personally and through teaching to further the profession. She is survived by two daughters: Eugenia and Erica, and three grandsons: Nicholas, Jordan, and Jalen. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Carolyn’s family and friends.
