Delegate Information for Future Conferences
The Board of directors would like to encourage the involvement
of all Surgical Technologists in our state at the state and the
national level.
Requirements of Delegates at National
Conference
- Attend
all business meetings
- Attend
candidates forum
- Attend
Government Affairs forum or other similarly scheduled
information session

Attend MSA-AST Caucus
- Vote
for candidates
- Submission of written report
Maybe you have felt in the past that belonging to a local
chapter did not fit you; however, you have been involved with
AST on a national level. We have developed some criteria to be
considered when considering a person for the position of a
delegate representing the state of Michigan. This criteria is
not inclusive.
The following will be considered in choosing Delegates for
National Conferences:

Must
currently be an Active Member of AST in good standing
as defined
(See Bylaws Article IV, Section 2. Classification A. Active
Member).

Have
attended at least 3 of the last 4 MSA-AST educational workshops &
meetings
-
Been
an active committee member of MSA-AST within the last 5
years

MSA-AST
positions receiving 5 points
Active
Committee work 5 points
TO APPLY
Fill out an application at the Fall Workshop and give it to a Board Member.
State requirements to serve as a delegate will corporate a
“Consent to Serve” letter that will recap the importance of
representing the state of Michigan at a national level and
the obligations thereof. .

A stipend is available to those who attend
nationals as a delegate upon completion of all requirements and
submission of a written report. There is no stipend available
for alternates unless they take the place of a delegate. |
