From Muskegon to Marquette

These pictures reflect a trip from Muskegon to Marquette for the Fall MSA-AST Conference

The option to take the Ferry over to Milwaukee and follow the Wisconsin shoreline up to the Marquette meeting was available. These pictures depict the route following the Lake Michigan shoreline north through Michigan.
Muskegon State Park - Lost Lake trail.  Although the water levels are down here and throughout the state, it is still beautiful.

The State Park has numerous trails to hike on that are well kept. Constructed in 1913, the Hamlin Dam will get a major overhaul in the spring of 2006.

Following the Coastline of Lake Michigan, there are many beautiful sights.

This is one of the many enjoyments near Beulah.

The Platte River runs into Lake Michigan and is a great spot for fishing and canoeing.

The Grand Traverse Bay has a very rocky shore.  Standing on the rocks is Brenda Mae Chilcote, official MSA-AST photographer .

Crossing the Mackinac Bridge is always a big thrill and the scenery is breath taking.

Much different than the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan, the shoreline of Lake Superior is all Rock.  The Colors and layers in the rock are beautiful.

One hour east of Marquette, the sunrise was breathtaking. The road seemed endless as one never realizes how wide the upper peninsula is.  What a gorgeous state we live in.

Being active in the Michigan State Assembly offers me the opportunity to travel many places in our great state and meet many other Surgical Technologists throughout our state.  Conversing with other Surgical Technologists is important as we can compare our employers and how they recognize our profession.  In order to be a recognized profession first we need to organize, communicate, and recognize each other for the true professionals we are.
